LIGHT/SOUND ENGINEER

About the position

The Orem Public Library is currently hiring for a part time Light/Sound Technician to work in the Library Hall performance venue. This is a non-benefited position responsible for set up and take down of equipment for concerts and events at Library Hall. This position will program lighting and sound plots, and be responsible for operating and maintaining lighting and sound control systems for live performances. This position will also perform some hosting and stage management duties, and will be expected to address patron and client concerns as needed and as appropriate.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of prior experience with sound and lighting in a performance environment.
• Knowledge of lighting and sound production and live events.
• Familiarity with microphone types and setup.
• Experience with analog and digital mixing equipment.
• Ability to set EQ and independent mixes for stage monitors and house.
• Proficient in light console operation.
• Knowledge of lighting design.
• Understanding of power distribution management.
• Experience with rigging.
• Ability to solve technical problems in stressful situations.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment with team members and clients.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of ETC equipment and EOS system.
