About the position

The Lighting & Electrical Sales Manager is responsible for managing projects related to lighting and electrical sales, focusing on prospecting new and existing accounts, analyzing project specifications, and ensuring timely delivery of projects. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage project timelines and profitability while maintaining relationships with vendors and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect new and existing accounts for projects
  • Analyze project blueprints and complete site surveys
  • Identify required specifications and recommend materials
  • Create bill of materials and submit to vendors for pricing
  • Negotiate with vendors for pricing and project timelines
  • Develop project timelines and proposals per client specifications
  • Communicate continuously with customers throughout the bid and delivery process
  • Understand revenue models, profit/loss, and manage project costs
  • Ensure timely communication of project information to Operations
  • Execute project phases and ensure on-time delivery
  • Work professionally within a team setting
  • Collaborate with Accounts Receivable for accurate invoicing
  • Investigate problems and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
  • Prioritize, organize, and execute multiple projects effectively
  • Establish and maintain ethical relationships with manufacturers

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of lighting and/or electrical sales/service experience
  • Journeyman License or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and selling skills
  • Good understanding of the market, competitors, products, and services
  • Strong math aptitude and organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and lighting design processes
