About the position

The Lighting Showroom Sales Representative at Gross Electric is responsible for selling lighting and decorative hardware solutions to retail customers and projects. This role combines exceptional sales skills with technical knowledge of lighting products, aiming to achieve sales goals while providing professional advice on lighting design and related products.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly and yearly sales goals and grow sales volume.
  • Assist customers in selecting and selling lighting and decorative hardware.
  • Provide professional advice on lighting design, including fixture selection and control systems.
  • Increase sales by selling furniture and home decor.
  • Sell add-ons such as dimmers and bulbs.
  • Follow the sales process to engage with customers and close sales.
  • Utilize open bid and order reports to manage potential orders.
  • Use ERP systems and Microsoft programs for sales processing and communication.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and product advancements.
  • Attend training to advance lighting knowledge and achieve certifications.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with customers.
  • Communicate consistently with customers about new products and services.
  • Process orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain a neat and professional showroom environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of four years of professional sales experience.
  • Experience in lighting and/or hardware business preferred.
  • Experience using ERP applications, specifically Epicor/Eclipse Solar preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships based on trust and respect.
  • Ability to provide outstanding service with enthusiasm and energy.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and respond urgently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in lighting sales for at least one year.
