About the position

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Wedding and Event Lighting Installer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the setup, installation, and teardown of lighting equipment for various events, ensuring that each setup meets our high standards of quality and creativity. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, vendors, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure lighting equipment, including LED fixtures, uplights, chandeliers, and string lights, according to event specifications and design plans.
  • Collaborate with event planners and clients to understand lighting requirements and preferences.
  • Ensure all equipment is installed safely and in compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Operate lighting control systems and software to create desired effects and ambiance during events.
  • Conduct pre-event testing to ensure all lighting systems function properly and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  • Provide on-site support during events to adjust lighting settings as necessary.
  • Safely dismantle and pack lighting equipment after events.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of lighting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with inventory management, including tracking equipment and supplies.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to address any concerns or adjustments needed during the event.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the setup, event, and teardown processes.
  • Work closely with other team members to coordinate schedules and workload for multiple events.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in lighting design or a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in event lighting installation or a related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lighting equipment, techniques, and design principles.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards and practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments (indoor and outdoor).
