LIMS Administrator

About the position

The LIMS Administrator is a remote contractor role focused on managing and configuring the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for a life science laboratory. The position involves overseeing file builds, system integrations, and collaborating with a third-party vendor to ensure optimal system performance. Key responsibilities include daily administration of Oncology panels, designing patient report templates, and supporting lab operations with system enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Participate in daily Scrum meetings to provide updates and track progress.
• Lead weekly vendor management meetings with SCC to review ongoing issues and track ticket statuses.
• Oversee and manage integrations between LIMS and internal systems.
• Manage Oncology panel file builds, including markers and routing rules.
• Review incoming user production tickets and perform root cause analysis.
• Ensure synchronization of system configurations across environments.
• Design and manage patient report templates with required customizations.
• Configure and manage macros and actions for automated workflows.
• Manage EDI reference codes and result codes for accurate mappings.
• Collaborate with lab operations teams to gather requirements for system enhancements.

Requirements

• Experience with SCC (Soft Computer) LIMS, particularly version 4.x
• Experience with modules DxPath and Flow
• Strong knowledge of file builds, system configurations, and integrations within LIMS environments
• Experience working directly with 3rd party vendors
• Ability to assess and troubleshoot production issues
• Experience in designing patient report templates and workflow macros/actions
• Familiarity with EDI, result codes, and integration between LIMS and internal systems
• Bachelor's Degree
