About the position
The Line Cook / Cafe Assistant position involves supporting the café manager in food preparation, customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized café environment. The role is essential for ensuring that meals are prepared efficiently and that the café operates smoothly throughout the day.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and stocking as directed by café manager or lead
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and catering items according to the day's plan
- Ensure that the café is set up in the morning and broken down correctly at the end of each day and that the space is clean, stocked, organized, and inviting at the end of each day
- Assist with the purchase of food and supplies using the order book
- Assist on the food line as needed
- Assist with other office-related activities such as filling in at the reception desk
- Provide excellent customer service while preparing orders
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience required
- Experience in a food service setting desired
- Ability to prepare a large volume of food in a short time frame
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
