About the position

The Line Cook at Pine Barn Inn is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food in accordance with hotel standards. This role involves creating unique menu items, assisting in budget management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The position requires flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, and emphasizes the importance of cleanliness and equipment maintenance in the kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for menu items and specials.
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment.
  • Create and design new and unique menu items.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in establishing department budgets and adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Ensure that all food and beverage products are consistently prepared and served according to hotel standards.
  • Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment in excellent working condition through preventative maintenance programs.
  • Comply with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations pertaining to health, safety, and labor requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a line cook or relevant role.
  • Great attention to detail and creativity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification and food safety certification preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, baking techniques, and nutrition.
  • Safe food handling certificate preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
