Line Locator

About the position

As a Line Locator at Trico Electric Cooperative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and success of construction projects by identifying and marking underground utilities. This position involves using specialized equipment to locate utilities, interpreting design plans, and collaborating with engineering teams to protect critical infrastructure during excavation activities.

Responsibilities

• Use maps and specialized electronic locator equipment to locate underground utilities.
• Read and interpret blueprints, facility maps, and engineering drawings to identify buried lines.
• Travel to job sites to respond to Arizona 811 requests, accurately identifying utility locations.
• Ensure the protection of utilities by determining exact locations and providing follow-up as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members, excavation personnel, and authorities to keep everyone informed and safe.
• Maintain accurate records of work time and client information.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED.
• A valid Arizona state Driver's License.
• Knowledge of Arizona 811 rules and regulations and OSHA guidelines for trenching and shoring.
• Availability for 24/7 response during assigned on-call periods on a weekly rotating basis.
• Willingness to travel across the service territory.
