About the position

The Aerial Lineman position involves performing aerial cable installation procedures and techniques, including the placement of poles and anchors. This role is crucial in helping to connect America by ensuring the installation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
• Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
• Flag traffic when required
• Understand separation and clearance regulations
• Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• Valid standard Driver's License with Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
• Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
• Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck up to 40 feet
• Ability to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed
• Willingness to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to travel when required
