About The Position

As a Linguistics Intern at Kognitos, you will play a key role in refining how our AI interprets, understands, and generates language. Your contributions will help improve the usability and accuracy of our NLP systems. Specifically, you will conduct research to enhance our language models, focusing on syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis. You will collaborate with engineers to design and build high-quality datasets for NLP training, identify ambiguities or edge cases in user input and propose solutions for improved language interpretation, test and fine-tune automated workflows to improve precision, and stay current with research trends in computational linguistics to integrate cutting-edge techniques.

Requirements

• Pursuing or holding a PhD in Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, Cognitive Science, or a related field.
• Deep knowledge of syntax, semantics, and discourse analysis.
• Familiarity with NLP models and technologies (e.g., NER, dependency parsing, tokenization).
• Analytical thinker with attention to linguistic nuances.
• Experience with corpus analysis, annotation, or data-driven research.
• Basic programming skills (Python preferred, but not required).
• Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
