About the position

The Chief of Staff for LinkedIn Talent Solutions (LTS) Engineering will serve as a strategic partner and advisor to the VPs of Engineering and leadership teams. This role is pivotal in driving key initiatives, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and managing the operational rhythm of the team. The position requires a seasoned leader with expertise in R&D, strategic planning, and organizational leadership to support LinkedIn's vision of becoming the world's definitive talent marketplace and transitioning into an AI-centric engineering organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage deep product knowledge to contribute to a long-term roadmap for the engineering organization.
  • Identify emerging technologies, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic planning.
  • Prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively to balance new feature development with technical debt reduction.
  • Drive prioritization, alignment, and execution with external platform partners.
  • Ensure alignment of resource allocation with organizational goals.
  • Drive tech innovation by identifying new opportunities for development based on market needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to create strategies and roadmaps for new innovations.
  • Manage relationships and interdependencies with key stakeholders to drive alignment across vertical teams.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration within and beyond LTS engineering.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, engineering, strategy, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading significant product development or strategic initiatives in a technology-driven environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MS in Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Significant experience working with software engineering leadership, technical teams, and individual contributors.
  • Ability to communicate authoritatively at a sufficient technical depth.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with LinkedIn’s engineering teams and leadership.
  • Industry experience building AI/ML applications.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of business operations, market dynamics, and financial principles.
  • Deep organizational savvy and knowledge of LinkedIn's culture and processes.
