About the position

The Linux Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing robust Linux-based solutions for various system projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing Linux environments, and providing technical support to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust Linux-based solutions for various system projects.
• Conduct sizing and capacity planning for Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
• Work with application teams to install, configure, and manage enterprise suites i.e. SAP and SAP HANA environments on Linux servers.
• Manage and optimize Nutanix storage solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot Linux environments to maintain high availability and performance.
• Develop and maintain documentation for system architecture, processes, and procedures.
• Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and security assessments.
• Provide technical support and guidance to team members and other departments.
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies related to Linux and storage solutions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in Linux system administration and engineering.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing solutions for system projects.
• Strong knowledge of sizing and capacity planning for Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with installing and configuring SAP and SAP HANA on Linux servers.
• Familiarity with Nutanix storage solutions and virtualization technologies.
• Understanding of network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, HTTP/S, etc.).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
