About the position

The Linux Senior Engineer position at ManpowerGroup is a hybrid role focused on building and maintaining the Linux server infrastructure that supports critical applications for KeyBank. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring high availability, implementing security best practices, and automating solutions for platform maintenance and deployment. This role requires collaboration with application teams to evaluate and implement solutions that meet business objectives, while also participating in the ongoing digital transformation and cloud migration efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily administration of Redhat Linux 7/8/9 on-prem and in GCP.
  • Build server images to conform to standards, including hardening and security compliance like CIS, SOX, PCI.
  • Manage service level agreements, documentation, and policy/procedure related to Linux Servers and ancillary tools.
  • Respond to off-hours calls/text (L3) on-call support.
  • Execute changes off-hours as needed.
  • Create and manage scripts to perform system tasks with Ansible.
  • Assist with design, configuration, and maintenance of the Linux server environment using Packer, Terraform, and VMware Virtualization Technology.
  • Work with the team to ensure standards are included, applied, and maintained across all product sets and solutions.
  • Manage and maintain VMware virtualization environment on a hyperconverged server platform.
  • Own and operate the company's release engineering infrastructure, including physical and virtual hardware, automation tooling, and continuous integration (CI) resources.
  • Audit and secure services across development, test, and production environments.
  • Independently coordinate with system vendors to resolve system issues.
  • Support and maintain the hardware and software infrastructure with a target of zero unplanned downtime.
  • Consistently observe security best practices in the deployment of all responsibilities.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in RHEL server administration.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, implementing, and maintaining an enterprise-level server environment that includes VMware, physical, and Cloud.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining servers in a hosted virtual environment.
  • Experience deploying and maintaining servers in a public-cloud hosted environment such as GCP & Azure.
  • Solid knowledge of Delinia Server Suite (Centrify AD Bridge) including upgrade/maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Practical experience scripting to automate tasks and processes at an enterprise scale using Ansible and shell scripting.
  • General knowledge in networking including TCP/IP, ACLs, VIPs, VPNs.
  • Knowledge of Packer & Git Lab.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Redhat Satellite administration, upgrading, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of SSH Key management.
  • Experience with Linux Security Baseline Management.
  • Experience with Linux Server Build and RHEL 9 design and build.
