About the position

Atlas Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Software Tester with a strong background in Linux systems administration to provide testing services for the new ADNS CaaS project. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, flexible, and highly motivated team player, responsible for performing software product testing on Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based networks and providing technical support for various IT products.

Responsibilities

• Perform software product testing on Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based networks.
• Provide Tier 3 and 4 distance support of networks, servers, and data communications paths.
• Work with the development team to reproduce and troubleshoot issues encountered during testing.
• Configure and maintain the test environment.
• Assist Subject Matter Experts and Technical Writers with documentation efforts, including test cases and test reports.
• Perform software and hardware product testing on Linux-based operating systems and networks.
• Track all changes and update documents as required, ensuring they are staffed to the lead engineer for approval.
• Research issues using available resources.
• Troubleshoot, document, and track software anomalies and deficiencies in engineering teams' configuration management software.
• Assist in the management of project test beds and network devices, including configuration of Linux and Windows-based test support systems and layer 2 & 3 switches and routers.
• Provide testing and technical writing support to other team members.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship
• Possession of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8 Server Operating Systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of hardware specifications found in desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
• Strong documentation and oral communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and balance multiple goals and priorities
• Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and commitment to quality
• Passion for learning about and working in the IT industry
• 2+ years of experience with software testing and test processes
• A CompTIA Security+ CE or ability to receive within 3 months
• 8+ years' experience working with a wide range of IT products.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Navy IT-21 networks using ADNS and CANES
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies using ESX VMware
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
• CompTIA Linux+ and/or Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certifications.
