About the position

The Linux Sys Admin position involves supporting, maintaining, and testing network and service provisioning applications. The role requires a candidate with a few years of professional experience and a willingness to learn, as they will be involved in projects of moderate to high complexity across multiple environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for incoming tickets to identify issues associated with network and service provisioning layer in the lab.
• Follow up on all tickets in a timely manner and pursue issues through to resolution.
• Responsible for code deployments and release installs for various applications in the lab environment.
• Troubleshoot network provisioning of various CPE devices.
• Work closely with development and architecture teams to understand requirements around testing new features and releases.
• Test software releases for network provisioning and service activation applications.
• Create and execute test plans and report bugs on issues found during testing.
• Analyze test data, document results, and communicate results and conclusions to project stakeholders.
• Create and manage documentation for support and testing related activities for provisioning applications.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of networking, including IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, TFTP, SCP, and a basic understanding of firewalls and load balancers.
• Experience with RedHat based operating systems such as RHEL and CentOS at an intermediate level.
• Willingness to learn new or unfamiliar technology quickly using documentation and internet resources.
• Ability to prioritize and achieve results while working on several simultaneous tasks and high-profile projects.
• Self-starter able to work independently but comfortable in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of billers like CSG, ICOMS, and NextGen process in a provisioning and activation flow.
• Knowledge of testing fundamentals with experience in cable (Video/Voice/HSD) domain.
• Knowledge of SAFE and Agile methodologies.
