About the position
The Linux System Administrator role involves managing and maintaining Linux environments, ensuring system performance, and providing support for various system administration tasks. The position requires proficiency in analyzing log files, managing user accounts, and configuring web servers, among other responsibilities. This is a hybrid position based in Des Moines, IA, with a contract duration of 3-6 months.
Responsibilities
- Analyze log files to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
- Manage user accounts and groups in Linux environments.
- Configure and manage Apache Web servers, including SSL Certificate configuration.
- Set up reverse proxy and load balancing for web servers.
- Work with Samba, CIFS, and NFS mounts for file sharing.
- Administer VMware environments, including vSphere and VMware clusters.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Linux system administration.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2008, 2012, and 2016.
- Experience with Apache Web server configuration and management.
- Hands-on experience with VMware and vSphere administration.
- Familiarity with Samba, CIFS, and NFS mounts.
