About the position

The Linux System Administrator position at Computer Technologies Consultants (CTC) involves supporting the Intelligence Community in Laurel, MD. This full-time, on-site role focuses on the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems for critical enterprise applications. The administrator will manage IT system infrastructure, provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support, and ensure the reliability and performance of UNIX and Windows operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems for critical enterprise applications.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Monitor and resolve problems for client, server, storage, and network devices.
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
• Support escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, including installation and maintenance of operating system software.
• Implement operating system enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience as a system administrator, or fifteen (15) years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• In-depth Linux experience.
• Familiarity with PowerShell and Bash scripting languages.
• Experience with system hardening and working with ISSOs for system compliance.
• DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I.
