About the position

The Linux System Administrator Graduate role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise is designed for recent graduates to work in a hybrid environment, primarily focusing on the configuration and maintenance of Linux servers and related systems. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with experienced system administrators and gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment, contributing to the company's edge-to-cloud solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Configuration and software maintenance of servers, switches, GPUs, and storage.
  • Image and upgrade servers with Linux OS and update firmware.
  • Set up multiple root partitions and install a variety of OS versions on the partitions.
  • Update DNS entries and configure systems to run on the HPE network per network security protocols.
  • Familiar with VMware vSphere and setting up and maintaining virtual servers.
  • Install and maintain a cluster using High-Performance Cluster Manager (HPCM) software.
  • Support installs and upgrades of Lustre File systems and related software.
  • Familiar with Workload Managers such as SLURM and PBS.
  • Basic knowledge of shell & Perl scripting, Ansible, and Docker.
  • Maintain a clean and safe lab environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Business field required.
  • Familiarity with VMware vSphere and virtual server maintenance.
  • Knowledge of High-Performance Cluster Manager (HPCM) software.
  • Experience with Lustre File systems and supporting software.
  • Basic knowledge of shell & Perl scripting, Ansible, and Docker.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of containers (Kubernetes, Podman, Docker) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology and Agile Scrum Development.
