About the position

The position involves analyzing and resolving complex problems related to server hardware, applications, and software integration, specifically within the context of IT systems for the National Security Agency (NSA). The role requires managing UNIX and Windows operating systems, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the integrity and performance of network components. The candidate must possess an existing NSA Top Secret Clearance with Polygraph and have extensive experience in system administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems.
  • Manages IT system infrastructure and processes related to these systems.
  • Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
  • Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
  • Supports the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software.
  • Troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components, implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Optimizes system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Provides in-depth experience in troubleshooting IT systems and detailed analysis and feedback to agency management for escalated tickets.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Active Top-Secret SCI with Poly required.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required (or five (5) years of additional experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree).
