About the position

AS&T is seeking both junior and senior level systems administrators with Linux experience to support their engineering organization. The role involves providing support for Linux-based users on a LAN, focusing on configuration management, build automation, and release engineering. Candidates will be responsible for solving end-user computer system problems and enhancing performance on specific Linux platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support Linux-based users on a LAN.
• Solve end-user computer system problems.
• Improve performance on Linux RedHat 5 & 6 and RedHawk 5 & 6 platforms.
• Install and evaluate COTS software products and tools.
• Engage in configuration management and build automation.
• Participate in release engineering activities.

Requirements

• Linux Systems Administration skills with knowledge of third-party products.
• Ability to work independently in a lab environment.
• Experience with Linux RedHat 5 & 6 and RedHawk 5 & 6.
• Knowledge of Agile processes and Core Digital Transformation.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to obtain Security certification and maintain a security clearance at the SECRET level.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in both Unix and Microsoft Windows administration.
• Knowledge of computer networking and communications systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Ability to create bash and perl scripts for environment setup in ClearCase.
• Familiarity with Rational ClearCase tools for software configuration management.
