About the position

Jacobs is seeking a Linux System Administrator to provide technical support for a government program in Annapolis Junction, MD. The role involves building and maintaining prototype and niche analytics tools, as well as documenting these developmental efforts. The position requires collaboration within an engineering team to design and maintain customer networks and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain customer networks including infrastructure.
• Collaborate with an engineering team of approximately 10 personnel, each with specific tasking.

Requirements

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field plus 4 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree plus 6 years of relevant experience; or High School diploma/GED plus 8 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in the installation or maintenance of network or telecommunications equipment and/or using specialized test equipment and network analysis tools.

Nice-to-haves

• Linux system administration experience.
• Experience with patching and scanning for security vulnerabilities.
• Experience with ATO renewals and POAMs.
• Ability to stand up machines for specific uses and tear down when complete.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and A+ certificates.
