About the position

As a Linux Systems Administrator for Cyber Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will play a crucial role in managing enterprise-class systems and specialized Linux operating systems. This position requires a strong focus on customer service and collaboration within a cross-functional team. You will be responsible for the administration of boundary devices and cross-domain solutions, ensuring the security and efficiency of the systems you manage. Your expertise in Red Hat Linux and command-line administration will be essential as you troubleshoot and resolve issues related to both hardware and software. In this role, you will also be tasked with implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and addressing vulnerabilities as identified by Information Assurance (IA) based on scan findings and Department of Defense (DoD) directives. You will manage the re-imaging of workstations, servers, and databases, both physical and virtual, ensuring that all systems are up-to-date and secure. This position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance, and you must be willing to undergo a polygraph examination as directed by the customer. Responsibilities

  • Manage enterprise-class systems and specialized Linux operating systems.
  • Provide customer service and support within a cross-functional team.
  • Perform command-level troubleshooting of operating systems and associated hardware/software.
  • Implement Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and mitigate vulnerabilities as directed by Information Assurance (IA).
  • Manage cross-domain enterprise-level solutions.
  • Re-image workstations, servers, and databases (both physical and virtual).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a specialized area or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance required, with willingness to obtain a polygraph.
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux command line administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for OS and associated hardware/software.
