About the position

As a Linux Systems Administrator for Cyber Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional team responsible for managing enterprise-class systems and specialized Linux operating systems. Your role will involve working with cross-domain solutions and boundary devices while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires a strong understanding of Red Hat Linux command line administration and the ability to troubleshoot operating systems and associated hardware/software at a command level. You will also be responsible for applying Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and mitigating vulnerabilities as directed by Information Assurance (IA) based on scan findings and applicable Department of Defense (DoD) directives. In this role, you will manage cross-domain enterprise-level solutions and be involved in re-imaging workstations, servers, and databases, both physical and virtual. The position requires a current and active TS/SCI clearance, which is essential due to the sensitive nature of the work performed within our facilities. You will be expected to contribute to a research-oriented environment, working alongside award-winning teams to develop practical solutions that enhance our nation's security. This position is fully on-site at the GDMS San Antonio location, where you will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to innovation and excellence in defense technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manage enterprise-class systems and specialized Linux operating systems.
  • Provide customer service and support for cross-domain solutions and boundary devices.
  • Perform command line administration of Red Hat Linux systems.
  • Troubleshoot operating systems and associated hardware/software at a command level.
  • Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and mitigate vulnerabilities as directed by IA.
  • Manage cross-domain enterprise-level solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a specialized area or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree.
  • Current and active TS/SCI security clearance required at time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed.
