About the position

A fintech company located in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator to join their expanding team. This role is critical as the individual will be responsible for the building, design, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company's Linux server and storage infrastructure. The ideal candidate will thrive in a 24x7 environment, demonstrating the ability to work with minimal supervision. This position requires a strong commitment to on-site work, with the expectation of being present at the office five days a week in Phoenix, AZ. The Linux Systems Administrator will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of the Linux systems that support the company's operations. This includes not only managing existing systems but also implementing new solutions and optimizing current processes. The successful candidate will need to possess a deep understanding of Linux environments and be adept at scripting and automation to enhance system efficiency. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that all team members are aligned and informed about system status and issues. Responsibilities

  • Build, design, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux server and storage infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible System Administration experience in Linux.
  • Extensive expertise in Linux is essential.
  • Proven experience in building servers from scratch.
  • Proficiency in Linux scripting.
  • Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools.
  • Effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a comprehensive understanding of technology.
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, process, and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Red Hat RDS and JBOSS.
  • Familiarity with NetApp SAN systems.
  • Experience with AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Previous Windows SysAdmin experience.
