Job Description
Our customer is seeking a Linus system administrator to join their support team in a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment with large-scale, scientific computational tasks.
The Linux admin will be responsible for supporting end-users with technical trouble shooting and general cluster usage as well as system monitoring and maintenance.
**This environment consists of a 140-node HPC
Linux-based cluster, with over 4000 cores and 1 Petabyte of data storage.
Compensation:
$50hr to $58/hr. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably with a scientific computing or Data Science
emphasis.
2+ years of production, work-related or academic Linux systems experience,
including:
Extensive command-line systems administration/use.
User and group account administration. LDAP experience is a plus.
Building (from source code), installing, maintaining and troubleshooting
application-level Linux and scientific software.
Installation of Linux
-Use of various Linux package management systems.
Intermediate shell programming experience
Ability to lift 1U servers (up to 50 lbs.) for installation and servicing required. - Experience with Linux shell/Bash and
Python preferred.
Familiarity with containerization,
-Programming experience with applications such as R, Numpy/Pandas, and MATLAB null
