About the position

PeopleTec, Inc. is currently seeking a Linux System Administrator to support our Huntsville, Alabama location. The systems administrator candidate will be a member of a development team, supporting the team's IT needs by establishing configuration baseline and sustainment capabilities for Linux servers and workstations within an existing framework. The ideal candidate will have proven skills in developing, deploying, and maintaining Linux images, strategy, and excellent documentation skills. The role involves establishing and maintaining a Linux baseline image to be deployed to both workstations and servers, as well as maintaining methods to deploy configuration and policy updates to deployed images. The candidate will be responsible for setting up administrator, service, and user accounts, maintaining system documentation, and ensuring the maintenance of program-specific configurations. Coordination with network administrators is also a key aspect of this role, along with assisting in procuring server hardware or cloud solutions for the development team. The successful candidate will have experience with multifactor authentication deployment and will be proficient in administrating RHEL8 workstations. They will also have experience supporting multiplatform solutions in a security-conscious environment and integrating Linux clients with Windows Active Directory/Azure Active Directory. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently. In-depth knowledge of and experience with implementing security controls, including familiarity with CMMC and NIST 800-171, is required. Exposure to DevSecOps with knowledge of common tools and platforms is also desired. The candidate must be certified to at least DoD 8570 IAT Level II (Sec+, CySA+, or CCNA-Security, etc.).

Responsibilities
