About the position

The Linux System Administrator role at Columbia Technology Partners involves supporting a team responsible for the architecture, engineering, integration, operations, maintenance, and sustainment of a complex multi-level/multiple classification Enterprise IT environment. This position is critical for enabling collaboration between US and foreign parties, focusing on cross-domain security, user access controls, and continuous monitoring to ensure the success of the mission.

Responsibilities

  • Support the architecture and engineering of a worldwide multi-level/multiple classification Enterprise IT environment.
  • Integrate and maintain systems to enable collaboration between US and foreign parties.
  • Perform security patching, OS upgrades, and troubleshooting of Linux systems to ensure maximum availability.
  • Utilize Splunk for monitoring and analysis of system performance.
  • Implement user access controls and continuous monitoring for security compliance.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Polygraph is mandatory.
  • 8 years of related work experience in Linux system administration.
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or related technical discipline, or 4+ years of additional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong Linux system administration skills, particularly with YUM and Salt.
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux system administration, including security patching and OS upgrades.
  • Familiarity with Splunk for system monitoring and analysis.
  • Security+ certification is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus.
