About the position

The Linux System Administrator at Segra is responsible for providing in-depth support for the company's Transport, Packet, and Management Networks, as well as OSS functions. This role focuses on systems administration rather than networking, requiring knowledge of commonly used concepts and practices within the organization. The position involves designing, developing, testing, and implementing components, equipment, and software, along with performing administrative tasks related to various projects and assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth support for the company's Transport, Packet, and Management Networks and OSS functions.
  • Design, develop, test, and implement components, equipment, and software within the functional area of the organization.
  • Perform administrative work relating to projects and assignments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in systems engineering, administration, or support.
  • Prior experience with Linux is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience deploying and managing OSS systems, network operations, or engineering environments.
  • Understanding of the OSS disciplines in the Skill Matrix.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to interact with customers, management, and team members.
