About the position

Wipro Limited is seeking a skilled professional to join our team, focusing on server management and infrastructure support. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and approving new servers, ensuring they are designed according to Low Latency Linux standards in collaboration with project managers and other infrastructure personnel. This role involves building, configuring, and tuning servers to meet specific application requirements, as well as reviewing requirement documents to define hardware needs and updating processes and procedures as necessary. In addition to server management, the candidate will set up, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Veritas volume manager and VCS cluster systems. They will also play a crucial role in planning, participating in, and supporting activities related to Disaster Recovery testing and data center migration, documenting results as needed. The position requires applying vulnerability patches with approved patch bundles to maintain compliance and providing firmware deployment support for HP ILO and IDRAC. Automation is a key aspect of this role, as the candidate will be expected to automate systems administration tasks using Ansible and shell scripts. Coordination with various teams to resolve issues and ensure timely project delivery is essential. The candidate will provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) following service restoration and design testing approaches, complex processes, and reporting streams while assisting with the automation of repetitive tasks. Ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements is a critical responsibility, and the candidate must be willing to work after hours and weekends or be on-call as needed. The role also involves conducting project-related research, assessing risks in business decisions, and ensuring adherence to policies and ethical standards. The candidate will handle issues and escalations, resolve production problems, and report on status and technical matters to management. Additionally, they will plan and implement improved processes, backup and recovery plans, and uniform methodologies and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve new servers.
• Design per Low Latency Linux standards with project manager and other infrastructure personnel.
• Build, configure and tune servers as per the application requirement.
• Review requirement documents, define hardware requirements and update processes and procedures, as necessary.
• Setup, configure, manage, and troubleshoot Veritas volume manager and VCS cluster systems.
• Plan, participate and support activities related to the Disaster Recovery testing, Data center migration and document the results.
• Apply vulnerability patches with approved patch bundle to be in compliance.
• Firmware deployment support for HP ILO and IDRAC.
• Automate systems administration work using Ansible and shell scripts.
• Co-ordinate with various teams to resolve issues and deliver project on time.

Requirements

• Good understanding of RedHat Linux 7/8, CoreOS and OpenShift.
• Good understanding of Network and Domain Services (AD, DNS).
• Ability to create simple automation scripts using Ansible or other scripting languages like Python, Bash.
• Good understanding of network protocols and tools used to troubleshoot issues.
• Willingness to learn internal and vendor purpose-built technologies required in support of the High Frequency trading platform.
