About the position

The Linux System Administrator position at TEKsystems involves managing and maintaining Linux-based servers at a Naval Base in Dahlgren, Virginia. This role requires a Top Secret clearance and focuses on ensuring the stability and performance of IT infrastructure while adhering to security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Linux-based servers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Utilize command line tools for system administration tasks.
• Configure and manage DNS services for the organization.
• Collaborate with IT teams to support infrastructure needs and resolve issues.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• IAT Level II certification.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in system administration of Linux-based servers.
• Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Strong command line skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of corporate services including DNS, SMTP, RHEV, Splunk, and Apache.
• Experience managing the installation and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Dell hardware systems.
• Experience in environments with rapidly changing job priorities.
• ServiceNow ITSM Ticket Management experience.
