About the position

The Linux System Administrator at Fiserv plays a crucial role in managing and supporting various Linux platforms, particularly Redhat Enterprise Linux. This position focuses on enhancing system security and operational efficiency through automation and effective patch management, contributing to the stability of systems that serve over 13,000 banks and businesses globally.

Responsibilities

• Administer and configure various Linux platforms including Redhat Enterprise, Oracle Enterprise, CentOS, and SUSE.
• Develop automation solutions using PowerCLI and scripting languages (ksh, Perl, Python) to enhance platform management.
• Lead patch management for Redhat/Oracle Enterprise Linux, utilizing tools like satellite server, spacewalk, ansible, and tanium.
• Support ITIL processes including capacity, change, release, and incident management.
• Utilize application server technologies (Weblogic, Websphere, JBoss, Tomcat) to maintain compliance and mitigate vulnerabilities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in software design for scripting, programs, and web-based applications for system administration.
• 3+ years of experience in patch management for Redhat/Oracle Enterprise Linux and vulnerability remediation.
• 3+ years of experience leading ITIL processes and documenting systems for audit compliance.
• 3+ years of experience with application server technologies and maintaining compliance requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work, education, and military experience.

Nice-to-haves

• VMWare and Linux (RHEL) administration experience.
• Background in VMWare and cloud platforms (Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Azure, AWS, Google).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to automate solutions.
