About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator position at Lockheed Martin involves supporting Linux-based systems for the Orion program within the Space Business Area. The role requires working in an agile environment, focusing on the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various IT systems. The candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of technical professionals and will be required to work on-site at the Highlands Ranch office for at least two days a week.

Responsibilities

• Support Linux-based systems for the Orion program.
• Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain various IT systems.
• Collaborate with Windows/Linux system administrators, storage and network engineers, IT project managers, cybersecurity engineers, and software developers.
• Participate in Agile teams leveraging Scrum, Kanban, or other methodologies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with administration of Linux-based environments.
• Experience with virtualization infrastructure platforms such as VMware, AWS, OpenStack, or similar.
• Experience with IT Security, including system hardening and vulnerability management.
• Excellent written, oral, electronic, and public communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD tools such as Git, Jenkins, Ansible, or similar.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and/or Containerization.
• Knowledge of networks including DNS and firewall configuration.
• Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and LDAP/AD.
• Prior experience supporting NASA programs.
