About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator will manage both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure services, focusing on virtual infrastructure, operating systems, storage, maintenance, security patching, backup, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring. This role involves developing scripts for efficient solution delivery and maintaining a continuous infrastructure integration stack.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in on premise virtual infrastructure, specifically in clustered high availability environments.
• Assist in integrating on premise solutions with cloud solutions.
• Orchestrate and automate the deployment of solutions hosted on both cloud services and on premise infrastructure.
• Perform proactive performance monitoring, analysis, alerting, reporting, and tuning.
• Conduct maintenance activities including deploying patches and ensuring that firmware and software are up to date.
• Perform incident and problem analysis, resolution, and follow-up to ensure platform stability.
• Create, review, and maintain technical documentation including solution designs and reference guides.
• Lead discussions of new products and services that will help enhance the delivery of infrastructure services; engage vendors as appropriate.
• Lead, advise on and complete implementation and maintenance activities during business hours as well as outside of business hours.

Requirements

• Experience managing Linux Red Hat environments
• Hands on virtualization experience with VMware
• Familiarity with CommVault backup software

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred experience with SAML / SSO
• Preferred experience with Oracle Database Installation
