About the position

ASRC Federal Data Solutions is seeking Linux Systems Administrators at mid, senior, and subject matter expert levels to support NOAA programs in Silver Spring, Maryland. The role involves providing support for Linux systems, particularly those running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and requires on-site presence. Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, patching, backing up/restoring VMs, and collaborating with application teams on middleware support.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stable Linux environment
• Patch servers monthly or as needed for vulnerabilities
• Use Ansible tower to manage and maintain the Linux environment
• Write Ansible scripts to optimize system administration work
• Manage Puppet for compliance of the Linux environment
• Manage and maintain Satellite server and its repositories
• Manage Red Hat Identity Management servers and PKI infrastructure
• Proficient in VMware ESXi infrastructure and deploying VMs
• Configure and install virtual desktop infrastructure and enterprise backup solutions
• Tune system utilizations for memory, processes, and network performance.

Requirements

• US Citizenship required to meet government access requirements
• Subject Matter Expert level: 12+ years of experience with planning, designing, and installing virtual hardware/software/storage within an Enterprise data center
• Must have Red Hat Certified Engineer - RHCE certification
• Expert level knowledge on Ansible and managing Linux environment
• Experience with Red Hat Identity Management, Red Hat PKI infrastructure Management, and VMware ESXi
• Senior Level: 8-12 years of experience with planning, designing, and installing virtual hardware/software/storage
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator - RHCSA
• Mid Level: 4-8 years of experience with planning, designing, and installing virtual hardware/software
