About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator role at Leidos involves maintaining and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems for a federal law enforcement agency. This position requires expertise in various areas such as database management, network administration, security, web services, and system programming. The administrator will be responsible for system uptime, performance, and security, while also contributing to software change management and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems.
  • Ensure uptime, performance, resources, and security of managed computers meet user needs.
  • Maintain database systems and ensure data integrity and system performance.
  • Maintain network infrastructure, diagnose problems with network-attached computers.
  • Administer security devices and consult on general security measures.
  • Maintain web server services and manage multiple sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upkeep of computer systems.
  • Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics as applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or a Master's degree with less than 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently to develop creative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • US Citizenship.
