About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator role involves managing and supporting distributed Operational Training (OT) environments for warfighters, particularly in Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) training settings. This position is critical in ensuring the operational readiness of the AF Total Force joint warfighter participants through realistic training opportunities. The role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technology in a supportive, employee-owned company, contributing directly to a National Priority Program.

Responsibilities

  • Installation, support, and maintenance of DTOC mission network servers and computer equipment.
  • Configure software, modify software configurations, and perform basic configuration management according to STIGs and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems.
  • Work as part of a project team in the design and integration of OTTI technologies and DTOC solutions.
  • Provide software application assistance for commonly used office automation applications and M&S tools.
  • Support HBSS and SIEM solutions and continuous monitoring.
  • Implement client workstation software patches, security fixes, and service releases.
  • Identify, analyze, and document long-range requirements.
  • Plan, execute, and manage all support, maintenance, and operational functions for Linux systems within DTOC boundaries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and five (5) to eight (8) years of related experience; a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of a degree.
  • SECRET clearance is required.
  • General knowledge of different Operating Systems such as Windows and various types of Linux (IGEL, Ubuntu, etc.).
  • General knowledge of Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI) software and PowerShell.
  • Must maintain Security+ certification.
  • DISA ACAS Training/Certified.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of working knowledge of Citrix and PowerShell scripting.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of employment experience in computer/networking related roles within the past five (5) years.
  • Experience managing Storage Arrays, file, and Virtual Machine backups.
  • Experience building and updating Virtual Desktop Interface technologies, VMware, MS Windows, and Linux, as well as physical computers and virtual machines.
