About the position

Join Lockheed Martin's Rotary Mission Systems Cyber & Intelligence team as a Linux Systems Administrator Staff. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing IT systems, with a particular emphasis on Linux environments. You will provide support for implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining IT systems, manage IT system infrastructure and associated processes, and handle the daily configuration and operation of IT systems. Your expertise will ensure the smooth functioning and availability of IT systems through proactive monitoring and issue resolution. As a Linux Systems Administrator, you will oversee day-to-day operations, including monitoring and resolving issues for client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile devices. You will deliver Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. Additionally, you will assist in the escalation and communication of system status to agency management and internal customers. Your responsibilities will also include configuring and managing Linux operating systems, installing and loading operating system software, and ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure. You will optimize system operations and resource utilization, conduct system capacity analysis and planning to ensure systems meet current and future demands, and provide support to users in accessing and using IT systems. Your role will involve offering in-depth troubleshooting and problem resolution for escalated issues, making you a key player in maintaining the integrity and performance of our IT systems.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 10 years of experience as a Systems Administrator (SA) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Experience with Linux system administration, including configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and vSphere is beneficial.
  • Ansible experience is preferred.
