About the position

CACI has an opening for a Systems Administrator, supporting Linux operating systems on our corporate development/test network as well as edge and cloud production environments. This position is primarily located in Sterling, VA but may also be performed at CACI facilities in Aurora, CO. The role involves providing system administration support for Linux environments, ensuring the stability and performance of systems, and collaborating with other IT professionals to maintain security and compliance standards. Some Continental US and International travel may be required up to 10% as well as surge support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux system administration and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for hosting applications in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS, utilizing scripting languages such as Perl and Bash, and supporting Information System Security Officers (ISSO) and Information System Security Engineers (ISSE) in obtaining and maintaining system security certification and accreditation. You will also be expected to meet all customer requirements to facilitate a system installation at DoD facilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national security missions and government transformation for Intelligence, Defense, and Federal Civilian customers.

Responsibilities

  • Support Linux operating systems on corporate development/test network and cloud production environments.
  • Host applications in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS.
  • Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Bash) for automation and system management.
  • Assist ISSO and ISSEs in obtaining and maintaining system security certification and accreditation.
  • Meet customer requirements for system installations at DoD facilities.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Current TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
  • Knowledge and experience in system administration processes.
  • DoD 8570 compliant certification or ability to achieve certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience hosting applications in Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Bash).
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent communication skills in technical, business, and client interactions.
  • Experience administering or architecting cloud-based environments.
  • Experience with DevOps and respective tools.
  • Experience with infrastructure management and provisioning tools (Satellite, Foreman).
  • Experience with containerization.
  • Experience with ticket tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Experience building and configuring Virtual Machines (VMs).
  • Experience with OS and software application patching (e.g., IAVA, version updates).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Red Hat Virtualization, KVM, or Hyper-V.
  • Experience with network attached storage (NAS) or equivalent storage systems.
  • Experience with installing and configuring server hardware (HP, Dell).
