About the position

As a Linux Systems Administrator at Adapt Forward, you will be responsible for the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems, primarily focusing on RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux). This role involves managing system resources, ensuring security compliance, and developing standard operating procedures to maintain system integrity and efficiency. You will also be tasked with resolving hardware/software interface issues and ensuring the availability and performance of systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of RHEL based systems.
  • Maintain STIG compliance of RHEL based systems.
  • Implement virtualization concepts and management tools.
  • Configure and troubleshoot chassis/blade/storage system hardware.
  • Conduct system performance benchmarking and analysis in VMware ESXi environments.
  • Support essential network services such as DNS, SMTP, NTP, IMAP, and SNMP.
  • Manage daily operations including security patches on RHEL systems.
  • Maintain the VMware ESXi virtual environment.
  • Provide configuration updates to meet user requirements on RHEL systems.

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education plus 5 years of professional experience.
  • IATII and CSSP Compliant Certifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • System Admin experience with network storage (NetApp SANs).
  • Experience with VMWare / Deploying VHDs / Virtual Computing.
  • Kickstarting RHEL installs.
