About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator role at Lockheed Martin involves supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The position requires maintaining and administering Linux systems, ensuring security compliance, and providing IT support in a multi-functional environment. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine server/workstation patching per guidelines
  • Create/edit Standard Operating Instructions (SOI) documentation
  • Conduct system backups and recovery
  • Maintain system configuration to ensure security compliance
  • Manage user and group accounts, privileges, and standard software configurations
  • Maintain system and configuration change logs
  • Perform root cause analysis for problem resolution in Linux environments
  • Provide IT support in a multi-functional environment including software support, network, and server administration
  • Utilize service/problem ticketing system for customer support

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain Security+ Certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 level II or higher certification) within 90 days of hire
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Knowledge of Active Directory
  • Knowledge of vulnerability remediation and security management (i.e. CrowdStrike, Tenable, Splunk, SCAP)
  • Knowledge of operating system life cycle management and configuration management

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with software application installation and configuration
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Knowledge of Linux/RHEL automation utilizing Ansible
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite server
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMNP
  • Knowledge of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) processes
  • Virtualization utilizing VMWare
