About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator at RSCY Consultants, LLC is responsible for applying current technologies to design, develop, evaluate, and integrate computer information systems and networks, with a focus on maintaining system security. This role involves working with vendors to evaluate secure commercial and government applications, ensuring the protection of company data, and providing security engineering services to internal customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, evaluate, and integrate computer information systems and networks.
• Maintain system security and protect company data against unauthorized disclosure or loss.
• Work with vendors to evaluate secure COTS and GOTS applications.
• Provide security engineering and integration services to internal customers.
• Analyze and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of IT and security controls.
• Manage changes to the system and assess the security impact of those changes.

Requirements

• Must have Security+ CE certification.
• Ability to pass a CI polygraph prior to starting employment.
• Knowledge of Red Hat version 7 or 8 (RHEL7/RHEL8) with the ability to engineer, install, administer, and maintain.
• Skilled in Linux-related scripting (Bash, Perl, Python, etc.).
• Knowledge of configuration management using Ansible or Puppet.
• Understanding of kernel infrastructure in a Linux environment.
• Experience with Apache web server or WebLogic configuration and management.
• Experience evaluating security solutions for classified information processing.
• Knowledge of operating systems, networks, and services.
