About the position

As a Linux Systems Administrator at CACI, you will play a crucial role in providing technical guidance and support for the operations of information systems. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and support both physical and virtual Linux systems, ensuring they operate smoothly and securely. You will leverage your technical expertise to monitor system performance, diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, and support the deployment of TRIRIGA software components as needed. Your role will also involve managing, configuring, and maintaining servers in both virtualized and traditional environments, as well as creating scripts to automate routine tasks and monitor system diagnostics. In addition to these technical responsibilities, you will be tasked with maintaining existing systems by analyzing, designing, and implementing changes that meet customer requirements. You will be involved in technology refresh projects and will respond to support requests, remotely assist with system installations, and build development environments. Your contributions will extend to operational and system support documentation, ensuring compliance with the program's configuration management procedures. Regular communication with your team lead regarding any issues that arise outside the normal scope of work will also be part of your daily activities. To succeed in this role, you must possess a patient and professional demeanor, coupled with a proactive attitude. You will be expected to work outside of regular hours to address emergency issues promptly, demonstrating your commitment to maintaining system integrity and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations.
  • Maintain and support Linux systems, both physical and virtual.
  • Administer Oracle RDS and monitor system performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues.
  • Install, configure, and deploy TRIRIGA software components as necessary.
  • Support, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain server issues and security.
  • Manage, deploy, configure, and maintain servers in virtualized and traditional environments.
  • Assist in creating scripts for system monitoring, diagnostics, and automation of routine tasks.
  • Create and maintain written and verbal procedures, technical documentation, training material, and reports.
  • Respond to support requests and remotely support system installations.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation.
  • 7+ years of related professional experience.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience administering server-side technology.
  • Familiarity with SQL and database operations.
  • Ability to prioritize a wide range of workloads with critical deadlines.
  • Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly.
  • Experience with designing/managing CRON Jobs (LINUX shell scripts).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of server and system administration principles.
  • Experience managing AWS environments and Oracle RDS.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or Information Management Systems, or equivalent experience.
