About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining a large-scale Linux server environment, specifically focusing on High Performance Computing (HPC) servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). This role is crucial for ensuring the stability and performance of over 20,000 systems, and it offers an opportunity to work within a collaborative team of over 20 Linux Administration and Engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Linux servers at scale, focusing on High Performance Computing (HPC) environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux systems and core infrastructure services.
  • Utilize Red Hat suite of tools including Ansible Automation Platform, Satellite, and Directory Server.
  • Set up and manage monitoring services, preferably using Splunk.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance system performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in Linux Systems Administration, particularly in on-premise environments virtualized with VMware.
  • Strong experience with Red Hat or RHEL, especially in troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in core infrastructure services such as DNS, LDAP, NIS, NTP, and DHCP.
  • Strong scripting skills in Shell/Bash, Python, or Perl.
  • Experience with Ansible and High Performance Computing (HPC).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Suite of tools including OpenShift and Foreman.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
