About the position

SAIC is seeking a proven Linux Systems Administrator to support the Army Research Laboratory's (ARL) Information Technology Modernization program. This role involves providing a full range of Enterprise IT services to support ARL's unique research mission, which includes a highly mobile workforce and geographically dispersed staff. The position is contingent upon contract award expected in fall/winter 2024 and will be performed at the customer site in Adelphi, MD.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations, and servers.
• Coordinate, direct, and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
• Schedule installations and upgrades and maintain them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
• Monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
• Develop and implement a schedule of system backups and database archive operations to ensure data/media recoverability.
• Plan and implement the modernization of servers.
• Develop, implement, and promote standard operating procedures and schedules.
• Conduct hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience; additional four (4) years experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance.
• Must have a Security+ certification.

Benefits

• Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000 based on experience and other factors.
