About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and managing Linux-based operating systems within a leading healthcare organization. This remote role focuses on ensuring optimal performance of systems, supporting web technologies, and integrating with Active Directory, while also emphasizing automation and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain Linux-based operating systems
• Administer and manage RedHat Linux systems
• Configure and support web technologies such as Apache and Tomcat
• Install, configure, and maintain databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
• Configure system-level networking and firewalls
• Manage and support Active Directory integrations
• Troubleshoot system issues and ensure optimal performance
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems and processes
• Automate tasks and workflows using scripting tools

Requirements

• Strong Linux systems administration experience (preferably RedHat)
• Basic networking experience, including firewall configurations
• Experience with web technologies (Apache, Tomcat)
• Familiarity with databases (MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
• Active Directory experience
• Proficiency in scripting for automation
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and documentation abilities

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Ansible for configuration management
• Exposure to Azure
