About the position

Join a new and exciting opportunity to protect national security and provide premier mission-focused IT services for a dynamic and growing program. Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux System Administrator to join our team near Ft. Meade, MD or San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems and manage IT system infrastructure as well as any processes related to problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. As a Linux System Administrator, you will be responsible for providing support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. You will also provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Your role will involve optimizing system operations and resource utilization, performing system capacity analysis and planning, and analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration. Additionally, you will configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems, install/load operating systems software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of, and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers.
  • Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
  • Configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating systems software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional related experience may be substituted for a degree.
  • 5-15 years' of related experience.
  • LINUX experience.
  • IAT Level II certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Linux and modern automation/configuration tools.
  • RedHat certification.
  • Knowledge of technologies including, but not limited to: Kubernetes, Docker, AWS(C2S), PostGres, Solaris, VMWare.
