About the position

Robert Half is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage and support network and systems across all locations, with a focus on providing support to a small team of end-users in the office. This role involves performing various Linux administration tasks and ensuring the smooth operation of both Windows and Linux servers.

Responsibilities

• Performing Linux administration tasks, such as logging in, traversing the file system, manipulating the file system, viewing logs, and network configuration.
• Administering servers (Windows and Linux), workstations, and their associated services, applications, and utilities.
• Supporting application deployment via Docker.
• Monitoring the Network Infrastructure.
• Handling the VoIP telephone system.
• Monitoring system and security, and executing necessary remediation.
• Supporting the virtualization infrastructure.
• Implementing patches on server and workstation operating systems.
• Backing up and restoring operating systems and applications.
• Supporting a small team of end-users with basic help desk/desktop support needs.
• Participating in shared on-call duties and managing after-hours maintenance as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Sr Desktop Engineer or Systems Administrator.
• Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred) is essential.
• Proficiency in Docker for app deployment and system management is highly preferred (but not required).
• Familiarity with Nutanix or other virtualization solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with team members.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrated understanding of IT best practices and an ability to implement them in the workplace.
• Willingness to stay updated on the latest technological developments relevant to the role.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
• Degree and certifications are preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves
