About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for ensuring high availability of systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and managing customer interactions. This role involves daily system monitoring, patching, and documentation creation, while working closely with various stakeholders including government customers and application vendors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure systems are fully operational at high availability.
• Rapidly troubleshoot and resolve systems issues.
• Handle tickets and calls from customers.
• Perform daily system monitoring and monthly patching.
• Troubleshoot network and application performance issues.
• Deploy software patches during off-hours as needed.
• Create or revise existing documentation including SOPs and user manuals.
• Communicate complex system configurations clearly in documentation.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with TS/SCI clearance and ability to pass a CI poly.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems administration, with at least 3 years in Linux administration.
• Strong experience with Unix, Linux, and CentOS operating systems.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud.
• Experience with VMWare.
• Active Security+ certification.

• Exhibit leadership skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 2016 or higher.
• Familiarity with Oracle SQL Server.
• Familiarity with Tomcat 8.5 or higher.
• Familiarity with JAVA Open JDK/JRE 11+.
• Experience maintaining applications built on a SQL Server database in an Oracle environment.
• Experience writing scripts to monitor system services and resources.
• Experience writing/editing PowerShell scripts.
• Experience writing SQL and PL/SQL queries.
