About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator role at Robert Half in White Plains, New York, involves deploying and configuring Linux servers, ensuring system uptime and redundancy, and managing IT needs for the office. Responsibilities

  • Deployment and configuration of new Linux servers in coordination with client and development application needs
  • Ensuring uptime, storage, and redundancy in our infrastructure through RAID configurations, cloud backups, disk storage management, and development of failover techniques
  • Monitoring server and application performance using tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
  • Configuring and deploying streaming and transcoding services for new clients
  • Assisting with client training on our software, including demos, training sessions, end-user documentation, and post-deployment user support
  • Managing IT needs for our office location, which includes managing office Wi-Fi and network, hardware procurement, troubleshooting hardware issues, maintaining the asset management system, and providing new employees with system access
  • Vendor management, including pricing, order management, and reporting via vendor portals for client billing
  • Supporting monthly client billing for subscriber counts, CDN usage, and import of third-party usage data
  • Operating efficiently within customer service protocol, answering common questions about streaming protocols, server setup, and networking
  • Updating documentation and troubleshooting procedures to share across technical teams
  • Managing local data centers, monitoring hardware performance, updating equipment remotely, managing inventory levels, and following data center policies and protocols.

Requirements
