About the position

The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and supporting both on-premise and hosted cloud environments, ensuring effective operation to meet business needs. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, administration of various systems and networks, and maintaining security compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems, network administration, and a commitment to professionalism and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective operation of on-premise and hosted cloud environments.
  • Provide IT network and systems support and administration.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting of desktops, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Administer Azure, SAN, VMware, and LAN/WAN/VPN environments.
  • Install and troubleshoot software/hardware.
  • Administer user accounts and maintain security posture.
  • Research and evaluate technology solutions for business needs.
  • Educate staff on software, systems, and applications usage.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation of network and systems configurations.
  • Adhere to NIST 800-171 and FedRAMP Moderate Controls and Standards.
  • Assist Security and Compliance Teams with routine tasks and audits.
  • Maintain and test disaster recovery plans.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Rotate as after-hours contact and provide after-hours support as needed.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and other Linux distributions.
  • 4+ years of IT work experience in systems and network administration.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Security-Enhanced and other General Security Guidelines.
  • Experience with K8/Kubernetes provisioning and support is a plus.
  • Nvidia/CUDA driver support on RHEL is a plus.
  • Experience with Office 365 and Azure is a plus.
  • Experience with other cloud solutions such as AWS or Google Cloud is a plus.
  • Active Directory administration and implementation experience.
  • Windows Server Administration experience.
  • Network troubleshooting and engineering experience including VPN, DNS, DHCP, WINS, TCP/IP, L2 and L3 Routing, VLAN Tagging, and SD-WAN.
  • Experience in supporting, configuring, designing, and administering next-generation firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Business intelligence systems administration experience.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision.
  • High-level commitment, motivation, energy, and professionalism.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of scripting principles with PowerShell and Python.
  • Knowledge of business process automation principles.
